Rouse's Middle East and Africa practice strengthened with management changes

Regional Managing Partner Sara Holder will continue to focus on building our presence in the region as well as in the technology sector and patent market. The third partner in the firm's MEA practice, Edward Hardcastle, continues to lead our Saudi Arabian association. All three manage a variety of intellectual property work across the MEA region.

Chad has experience in a wide range of intellectual property related work, including portfolio management, acquisitions, IP strategy, dispute resolution and enforcement. He joined Rouse's office in the United Arab Emirates from London, where he was a member of the IP department of one of the world's largest premium drinks manufacturers. Prior to working in London, Chad was a solicitor in the IP and IT group of a law firm in Sydney, Australia.

In addition to taking over responsibility for the UAE practice, Chad will continue to focus on advertising and promotion, trade mark disputes, portfolio management and other general IP strategy matters both in the UAE and elsewhere in the MEA region.

Sara Holder said, "Chad has been an integral part of the MEA team for almost 5 years now and I am delighted for him to take over management of our practice in the UAE. With Chad at the helm, our clients will continue to be well served by our strong and dedicated team, benefitting from the full range of IP services. I'm looking forward to being able to focus on building our technology and patents practice further."

Chad Dowle said, "I am very pleased to be taking up the role of UAE Country Manager at such an exciting time for the firm and the region. I am delighted to have the opportunity to play a part in the ongoing development of the IP regime in such a vibrant region. I look forward to leading the team and continuing to deliver high quality services across the region."

Luke Minford, Rouse's Chief Executive Officer, said, "The UAE occupies a strategic location in the Middle East and is a key area for growth and development of the firm. I am confident Chad's appointment, and working together with Edward and Sara, will be instrumental in continuing to strengthen our footprint across the MEA region."
