Repairs will Help Animals Stay Warm in Winter Cold
The Humane Society of the United States has provided an emergency grant of $3,000 to Farmington Pet Adoption Center to cover repairs after electrical system problems resulted in a number of small fires and partial loss of heat within the shelter.
Shelter Manager Jodi Wells contacted The HSUS to request financial assistance with the repairs. The grant covered wire, breakers and service for installation of a donated furnace to provide heat in the kennel. Remaining funds will be used for upgrading wiring throughout the rest of the shelter.
?Farmington Pet Adoption Center provides a valuable service for the citizens of Farmington and surrounding areas,? said Amanda Good, Missouri state director for The HSUS. ?The Humane Society of the United States is thankful our grant is able to help ensure that the animals, and the staff who care for them, stay safe and warm.?
