Once the flagship of the BC Ferry fleet, the Queen of Sidney is now nothing more than an eyesore.

?And people who have to look at it on a daily basis want it gone.

?For the ten years, the 102 metre long ship has been rusting on the Fraser River in Mission.

?Its owner isn't keeping it in shape and a few months ago there was concern of it breaking free of its lines and drifting downstream.

?The problem was only solved after the Ministry of Environment stepped in.

?Mission mayor Ted Adlem wants it gone too, but he's not sure who to ask.

?"I know we have no control over it.? I believe it's either a provincial or federal issue.? But I would suspect it's a provincial issue at this stage."

?More recently, Adlem says the ship has developed a list.

?"I called staff when I saw that it was listing because I was concerned that it was sinking.? One of our staff members went down and I guess the river's down now and it's sitting on the bottom and listing kinda sideways."
